Chapman’s Peak Summit Hike

One of the Cape Peninsula’s most rewarding hikes — short, steep, and absolutely spectacular. 🌄

The trail winds through rich mountain fynbos, with bursts of proteas, ericas, and indigenous trees. Keep your eyes open — you might just spot a soaring black eagle or fish eagle riding the thermals above.

Chapman’s Peak Drive may be the celebrity of the Peninsula, but the real views? They’re waiting just above it. From the summit, you get a full 360° sweep of the Cape — Hout Bay below, the Atlantic Ocean stretching to infinity, and those iconic sandstone cliffs glowing gold at sunset.

It’s a bit of a local secret — no entrance fee, no crowds, just pure, wild beauty. Close enough for a quick escape from the city, yet rugged enough to feel like a true mountain adventure.

Whether you’re a local looking for a fresh perspective or a first-time visitor, this trail is pure Cape Town magic.
